What are benefits of taking vitamins/supplement?

A healthy body requires vitamins and supplements to grow and function properly. Among the essential vitamins are A, C, D, E, and K, along with thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, pantothenic acid, biotin, B6, and B12. In order for the body to function properly, vitamins have different tasks to perform. You can get energy from food and keep your nerves healthy with some vitamins (NIH.org). We don't always get the required nutrients from the foods we consume and it may be helpful to take quality vitamins or supplements.
